Go see this film. It's a very tender and sweet story with alot of twists and turns and a terrific cast. It just borders onthe brink of shmaltz but doesn't cross it. Sweet little ditty of a film.

This was a very entertaining movie. John Malovich was perfect as the quirky mentalist who did what he did because he took great joy in giving his audience the best show possible. Everybody shoud care this much about whatever their task at hand. Colin Hanks ended up learning more about his himself and life from Buck Howard than he ever could have if he would have stayed in aw school. Tom Hanks was very convincing as Colin's dad (hehe). Props to all the B-level entertainers who care more for their audiences than those bigshots who may be exceptionally gifted but who could care less. PS: if you see Buck Howard give him a fist, don't shhake his hand.

why do the movie reviews in the newspapers always gush over small independent films.... if you read any of the chicago papers reviews of this film, you would think oscars all around.... so why was i bored stiff watching this film... kind of cute at times....tom hanks must have used a lot of his star power to get his kid the lead, and to get all the cameos from the various tv shows. but no...this is not a good film...buer beware.
