Fantastic acting...fasinating plot. Who doesnt love a little corruption of government? I really liked this movie. Though the casting is a bit off with the sisters- Anne and Mary. There are numerous mentions of the fact that Anne is plain while Mary holds the beauty. Portman and Johansson are both equally striking with their beauty. Anne should have been played by a less attractive woman.

This is an excellent film, but it does contain a vivid rape scene... not easy viewing for some people, and its helpful to know in advance.

This film is superbly done though, Portman's acting is excellent, demonstrating very well Anne Boleyn's escalating crisis. Johannson acts beautifully too in a quiet and passive, yet deep, role. The film had me completely involved and in tears too (and I don't cry easily).

However... not much of the story actually happened. The Boleyn sisters were very different to the characters in the film, and were hardly innocents when they were first introduced at court. They were both experienced and calculated courtesans, who also had nothing to do with one another. There is no evidence that Mary gave Henry a child, though she was his courtesan for a time. So that can spoil it a bit if you are looking for any accuracy.

Its just a story, a speculation and a lot of unresearched invention, but none-the-less, its a gripping and well acted story. I gave it a high rating because it was such a good story and so well directed and acted.

This movie fails being so melodramatic and staying far from facts, never touching the political issues.

I enjoyed this movie. Although some of the facts are wrong, I love both Natalie Portman and the Tudor era. Best of both worlds.

The movie was ok, but really boring at parts. The story seemed like it was missing so much too. There were parts they needed to concentrate on and instead, just let them fly by. Because of this, you cannot really stay that interested in the story. The case was ok. Eric Bana was decent. Natalie Portman was good. Scarlett Johansson was actually not that good in this film. This was based on a true story about Henry VIII. Yet you would think if this movie is about Henry VIII, it would be more exciting and it wasn't. So it wasn't the best movie out there, but it is worth watching at least once, I guess.
